The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved opening a public hearing today (4/2) that will discuss the establishing of methodologies and general criteria for the third cycle of periodic tariff reviews for electricity transmission concessionaires (3CRP-T).The period for contributions goes from April 4 to May 3.

The methodologies and criteria proposed in the hearing by the Agency will be valid for companies whose periodic review dates fall within the 3CRP-T.The scope of the review will observe the concession contract and should be applied on the entire asset base or just the new concessionaire installations.

The objective of the periodic review is to establish annual revenues for the concessionaire that are compatible with covering efficient operational costs and with an adequate return on prudently invested capital.Since the required revenue is calculated on annual bases, a revenue flow will be established during the review that is compatible with the economic cost of providing the service, related to the 12-month period following the tariff review date.For following years, the annual readjustment rules defined in the concession contract remain in place.
